A review of your web site logs will help you see which terms were searched,
which terms brought your website traffic to you. And then you can use these
terms to build content based on those terms. Let’s take a closer look at this.
CPanel / Stats
To locate your website logs and statistics, simply key in your domain name and /cpanel
(short for Control Panel), like this: http://yourdomain.com/cpanel. Then you’ll
need your user id and password to enter this area. Click on the “stats” icon,
which could be named something like, “Web / Ftp Statistics.” And see which stats
are available.
Inside the stats area, note that not all information is readily available.
Sometimes tracking devices need 24 hours or so to report in full. And that fact,
combined with time zone changes and updated tracking with computers around the
globe for the tracking software, especially to update all the bandwidth on the
Internet and traffic, you may wish to check your stats 36 hours later for more
actual data.

Choices to view stats listings can be:
Webalizer – This is one of the top stats software programs out there today.
Their program offers more complicated stats, digging deeper into data analysis
for you, presenting you with awesome graphs and charts about your website
visitors.
Awstats – This program is pretty popular with web hosting companies and presents
nice, easy-to-read formats.
Subdomain Stats – If you have subdomains on your account, this area presents
stats for them. If not, ignore the area.
Latest Visitors – If you click this area, you can read about the last 300 people
who clicked on your website and learn more about them.
Bandwidth – Click here to find out the number of bytes that has been transferred
via your account.
Error Log – This log shows when people clicked on pages that were not working
correctly or where links were broken, etc.
In lieu of a cpanel, in case you do not have this type of access, you can head
to sites like
AddFreeStats. Get no-cost web stats there by placing code for one of their
buttons on your web page. The code tracks clicks and creates stats for your
site, available for viewing 24 / 7 by visiting the companies’ home site at
www.addfreestats.com. Note: Should this site no longer be available, search
“free web stats” in your favorite engine for new companies.
